The Evening Bell (저녁종)

Those evning bells those evning bells

How many a story you've got to tell

Of youth and home and that sweet time

When last I heard your soothing chime

 

저녁 종소리 저녁 종소리 너희는 전해야할 이야기를

얼마나 많이 전했니 젊음과 집,

그리고 행복한 시간 내가 마지막

너희에게 들려주었던 종소리를

 

Those lovely days they are past away,

And many a heart that then was gay

Within the tomb now darkly dwells

And no more to hears evening bells

 

그 종소리는 사라지고 행복했던 지난 날들

그리고 그때는 많은 마음들이 행복했었지

지금은 어둠의 무덤속에서 지내기에 더 이상

저녁 종소리를 들을수 없네

 

And so it will be when I am gone,

That tunefull sound will still ring on

  While other bards will walk these dells

And sing your praise sweet evening bells

 

그러니 내가 떠나도 그리될 터인데

저 아름다운소리 계속 울리리라

또 다른 시인들이 이 종소리와 함께 걸을테니

  너희는 즐거운 노래의 저녁 종소리를 들려다오
