Vakhtang was born in 1972 in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia.
His grandfather, a very well known Georgian artist,
often took him as a little boy to his studio to teach him to paint and draw.
Vakhtang's Grandfather would arrange still lifes
for them to paint together and then discuss what they
both saw and painted.
After still lifes came landscapes (Plein air paintings) and then portraits.
In 1996, he was accepted to the Tbilisi Academy of Art.
In 1999, during summer school at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Art,
he saw for the works of two artists named Levitan and Coro.
This made the biggest impact on his vision of art
and helped him to create shape him as a landscape artist.
Vakhtang began to understand,
that he wanted to paint landscapes,
but in a manner that would show his feelings,
his inner world. Landscapes for him are his way
to give his audience warm, good feelings and positive emotions.
